RLC Adult Expeditions - Patagonia (Chile)

January 4 - 16, 2020

This trip into the wild and rugged heart of the Chilean Patagonia region known as Aysén will surely leave your spirits high and quench for adventure abated. Travel by 4x4 truck and nightly lodging will leave plenty of energy for fjords, glaciated lakes, glaciers, mountains, hiking, fishing, community and fun. Visit four of Chile’s national parks, complete six days of hiking with not-to-be-missed views, drive the Carretera Austral, Chile’s most iconic road, boat glaciated fiordes, and wanderlust the days away with majestic southern austral flora and fauna. Led by David “Hock” Hockschartner, former Executive Director of North Country School and Camp Treetops, and Tory Ewing, RN, outdoor enthusiast, naturalist, alpinist, skier, runner, and a yoga therapist.

Who is this trip designed for?
Student on college break. Business professional wishing to answer the call of the wild. Parent looking to connect with your adult son or daughter. We will build a sense of community and adventure for outdoor enthusiasts who love long day hikes (up to 15 miles with elevation gain), kayaking and boat trips, casual fishing, all-weather conditions (it is Patagonia, afterall!), stunning views, and a comfy bed to sleep in at night (from the spectacular Patagonia Lodge in Parque Patagonia, to more rustic cabaña living). In between we will be traveling by 4x4 truck on one of the most iconic gravel roads in the world.

Tuition: $6,000+ airfare.

Rates include: breakfasts, lunches and dinners, activities, lodging, in-country transportation, and travel insurance.

Participants are asked to arrange for travel to Balmaceda, Aysen, Chile. Pick up at the airport provided.
