A WEEK OF WOOL & WEAVING
AGES 12 - 17
RLC A Week of Wool & Weaving
June 16 – June 22, 2019
This weeklong program offers hands-on immersion in the fiber arts to all experience levels. You will learn needle felting, knitting, and wool dyeing using wool from our own sheep. Spend relaxing afternoons alongside Round Lake, playing with color and patterns as you learn to weave on an Inkle loom.
At the end of the week, you’ll return home with a range of finished products including knitted hats, woven belts, and felted artwork.
Workshops will be interspersed with a range of other activities around our mountain campus. Hike up to a mountain view, take canoes onto the lake, help cook meals, and lend a hand on the farm. You’ll even get a chance to spend time with the very sheep that produced the wool you’ve been using this week.
Students will share rooms in our lakeside Eileen Rockefeller House and enjoy fresh meals prepared using ingredients from our farm.
