High Peaks Telemark Ski Clinic & Stay

Beginner to intermediate telemark skiers team up with some of the best instructors in the Northeast.
Explore the world of telemark skiing as a guest of North Country School in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks.
Whether you are a first time telemark skier or an experienced free-heeler, we can expand your skills through multiple terrain options on and off campus in the heart of the High Peaks Wilderness Area.
Hosted by PSIA telemark education staff members, and North Country School (NCS) faculty John and Libby Doan, we will have access to Whiteface and Mt. Pisgah resorts, as well as a private 25 trail system and rope tow in the shadow of Pitchoff Mountain. Equipment rentals are available through NCS and local ski shops. Depending on the skill levels in the group and conditions, a short backcountry ski trip may be available.
Rates include all meals and drinks, activities, and lodging.

RLC Adult Expeditions - Zermatt
Monday June 25 - Monday, July 2 2018
Join David “Hock” Hochschartner, Executive Director of North Country School, Camp Treetops, and Round Lake Campus, in Zermatt, one of the loveliest mountain villages in the world, as he hikes hut to hut in the Swiss Alps. Spend three nights in town and four nights at Swiss Alpine Club huts at the base of 4000-meter peaks. Wander around the car-free town, hike its beautiful trails, and see the Matterhorn, Breithorn, Dent d'Hérens, Liskamm, and Monta Rosa.
Tuition: $3,500. Participants are asked to arrange for travel to and from Zermatt, Switzerland.

RLC CANOE DESIGN / BUILD RETREAT

RLC Canoe Design/Build Retreat
Saturday, July 7 - Friday, July 20 2018
Handcraft a cedar-strip canoe from start to finish while staying and dining at the Eileen Rockefeller House, or "RockE" on Round Lake Campus in the Adirondack Park.
Mornings will be spent in Weecote Barn with Trevor Tait assembling the form, laying strips, sanding, fiberglassing and varnishing the finished product. In addition to making one or more canoes as a group, each participant will make their own paddle. Afternoons are open: half-day canoe trips in the surrounding area with Trevor, enjoying the porch, lake and/or hiking trails on campus, or self-guided explorations of the Olympic class village of Lake Placid. Evenings are shared together around farm-to-table meals with stunning views of Cascade Pass.
Limit 14 overnight participants.
Rates include all meals and drinks, activities, and lodging. Finished canoes available at cost to interested participants (by lottery if necessary).

Shared Room, Shared Bath (double occupancy for couple or friends):
$4,000 full package / covers two people. May choose from one full or two twin beds.
Note: Instruction only for 12 half days, including lunches, available at $1,200 per person.

Northeast Rox:
July 15 - August 4, 2018
Explore crags in coastal Maine, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and some Adirondack favorites. Learn the basics of climbing and belaying or expand your existing skill set to include anchor building and multi-pitch climbing! Rest days spent swimming in rivers and exploring local culture.
Tuition: $3500. Limit: 8. Equipment available for rent.
Program leader Mickey Hardt taught science, math, and woodworking at North Country School from 2013-2017 and helped run the rock and ice climbing, snowboarding, and wilderness adventure programs. His technical experience includes summits of El Capitan (CA) and the Diamond on Long’s Peak (CO).

SIERRA NEVADAS WANDER
AGES 14-17

Sierra Nevadas Wander (CA):
June 24 - July 7, 2018
Based in the Lake Tahoe region of the California Sierras, explore countless mountains, lakes, streams, and trails via multiple modes. The trip will include rock climbing, a white water rafting adventure, several day hikes, swimming, and a three-day backpacking trip through the alpine lakes of Desolation Wilderness.
Tuition: $2400. Limit: 8. Activity specific gear (i.e. climbing equipment, rafting gear) will be supplied while clothing, personal items, and a suitable backpack are required for each participant.
Program leader Mickey Hardt taught science, math, and woodworking at North Country School from 2013-2017 and helped run the rock and ice climbing, snowboarding, and wilderness adventure programs. His technical experience includes summits of El Capitan (CA) and the Diamond on Long’s Peak (CO).
Program leader Jess Jeffery is a school nurse at North Country School and holds certifications as a Wilderness First Responder. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jessica has lived in the Adirondacks for 10 years. Previously she worked as a backcountry caretaker for New York State, as well as a ski patroller at Whiteface Mountain. An RN, Jessica earned her nursing degree at North Country Community College. She loves spending time with her husband and two-year-old son Wyatt, as well as skiing, surfing, and anything woods related.
